It's still a conspiracy, but... some conspiracies are better than others. And the truth IS out there, if often found at the grocery and liquor store. :p
Besides, I just bought a real old-fashioned egg beater as I go off-grid/retro, and I want to put it to the test. I hope Barkley got a treat for his sumptuous treachery? Yum!
Cond0011 - I was up EARLY, and after little lunch and no dinner, I was hungry. This is really pretty quick to whip up.
Vic303 - but it includes ALL the food groups, including Bourbon! I used Knob Creek. Basic rule is if I wouldn't sip it I won't cook with it.
Murphy;s Law - we're still laughing at Murphy steeling a frying pan
Ed Skinner - the force is strong in you. :-)
Mike W - I do the Advocare Protein shake when I'm working and busy, it's quite tasty at least unlike the last brand I tried that tasted like windex and egg white.
Duke - it's Friday, my evil comes out early on Friday.
immagikman - Mom made french toast for dinner sometimes with venison sausage. yummmm.
andie - you are welcome!
J.R. - well it had sugar and alcohol so it couldn't have been too bad.
Doom - I was so lucky to get some of my Mom's kitchen ware from the 50's on up.
DaddyBear - OK, lunch was a salad, still so worth it.
gfa - everything in moderation, but everything frequently. :-)
I'm home, brother starts chemo and radiation Tuesday, a aggressive program for 8 weeks, He wants to hole up and not be fussed over the first few weeks, then I'll go visit again. One of his kids can fetch Dad for visits til then.
But I'm seriously pooped, got a couple days off, "girls" day out this weekend, tactical movie and shooty shopping, dog entertainment and maybe a ride in someone's new Suburu (a much better choice as a winter vehicle than the AMC Kremlin).
But if we spot the goose the market truck I'm so pulling a scene from Bullett.
Brigid,That syrup is soooo good!I had some left over,(I was tempted to drink it)and put it in a cup in the fridge. As it cooled, the butter solidified.Do you think it will melt OK if I heat it back up?What do you do if you have some left over? Bill
467 - it will keep and the better will remelt, just stir it before serving. I've served it over porch chops alongside of some fried potatoes and green beans.

Wow. Got the rumbles looking at those pics.
Too bad those don't cook in a crock pot. :)
Evil, evil woman! How dare you tempt me so, with bacon, and french toast...and...and....Bourbon Maple Butter????
Vic303
(What bourbon would you suggest? I have several tasty options!)
I love the way that dog thinks!
Almost makes me want snow. Almost.
Damn. I had a protein shake for breakfast and now I'm starving looking at this. Thanks Brigid! :P
You're bad....posting stuff like this in the morning while some of us are hungry.
Ohhh man I am soooooo hungry for that French Toast...it looks so very good *sigh*
At least I'm reading this while eating my own breakfast; it would have been a cruel jest had I not seen it until later. :^)
Thank you Barkley (and you Mom for the awesome recipe). Now I have my breakfast plans ready for Saturday morning!
You inspired me to make some this morning. Didn't seem to turn out as well as yours (though the rum-amaretto-brown sugar syrup was good).
Yum!

You know, it's rather difficult to eat healthy when you combine my three favorite things into a french toast condiment. :-)

SO...you're going to goose the market truck with an AMC Pacer?
:-)

LOL, you're KILLING my diet over here... AGAIN! :-D
And I thought it was going to be a Heywood Banks post until I scrolled down.
LOL, and you'll probably really wish you had a mustang instead of a Subie, hehe.......
This looks like a grand excuse to break in my virgin Lodge cast iron skillet.
Thanks,
John
Hmm, Knob Creek, eh? I have some of that...among others!
Vic303
How am I supposed to stay on my New Year diet after this?
