You hardly qualify as a BOY, Doc...
That's what my drill instructor in Navy boot camp in Orlando, FL (now sadly closed) called the fat recruits. Doughboy.
No way!Pics, or it didn't happen!
Oh man, I REALLY wanna see pics of the two outfits! :-) And I expect a post on the reactions too!!! Enjoy!
No Pics from you in period gear?? awww. ;)
Pictures sent Old NFO. I'm glad it was chilly out as I had enough layers on underneath the sweats to look more doughboy and less girl shaped.
Ah yes, the images this post calls to mind. :^)
Where did the Pillsbury logo for the hat come from?We went to the big raucous adult event across the river last night. We were prepared for a PDX freak show, but the strangest thing we saw was one middle aged guy simply walking around sans clothing.Mrs. Roscoe said, "I thought this was a 'costume mandatory' event.""He is wearing a top hat."
Roscoe - Box of Brownie Mix meets exact-o knife.
LOL, your poor stomach must have been poked more times than countable....
You really need to teach barkley to hold the camera a little higher:) Happy Halloween.
naturegirl - I had an oven mitt and wasn't afraid to use it. They behaved.RichD - yes, he's not good with the camera. My trip east cancelled (imagine that). Please say a prayer tonight for all in the path of the Hurricane.
Pics for the gals and me too... Awesome idea...Dann in Ohio
Dann -sent. The photos were with friends who aren't into blogging or social media so I will not show their photos here and cropped the ones I sent via email but we had some great costumes and seriously good food. Walking Dead, Star Trek, owls, Cookie Monsters with their own Girl Scout. Electrical outlets and plugs, you name it. With a group of science, engineering and math geeks there was much science fiction talk (young or old everyone in the house was a Dr. Who fan)as well as tearing apart some of the zombie marathan we were watching with science (including coming up with the pressure differential at which zombies would implode under water).
Brigid: "I'm glad it was chilly out as I had enough layers on underneath the sweats to look more doughboy and less girl shaped."Filo dough... :)
My Fries are very bummed that trick-or-treat night (which was to be Tuesday) got canceled. They were so looking forward to wearing their costumes.I'm really hoping our borough reschedules after the storm. I don't need to eat all the candy I bought before I knew TOT was going to be 86ed.
Prepackaged brownie mix? Now that's a scary Halloween story!Costume resource filed for future reference. Thanks.Computer geek/baking trivia: When you're looking at the controversial new Windows 8 interface, keep in mind that current Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer once had a job with Duncan Hines redesigning their cake mix boxes to grab more shelf space by sitting horizontally rather than vertically. Ask the "Doctor Who" fans about "River Song". "NCIS" is borrowing the actress and, I'm guessing, a good bit of the character for sweeps next month.Wonder if she'll use the hallucinogenic lipstick on Gibbs. :)
Looks like fun!
Sorry, Brigid, completely off-topic: Gil Hebard, of Gil Hebard Guns, American Handgunner of the Year recipient, and member of the rareified "2700 Club" in Bullseye several times over-- and friend to me, my family, and countless others lost the battle with Father Time Sunday 10/28. I just found out last night. Thanks for affording the opportunity to spread the word, whether via this comment or if you choose this man's history as a topic. Thanks again, Mick
Mick - sorry to hear that. I bet a number of people will see your comment I'd hesitate to do a post on someone I don't know, I'd not want someone writing about me just by what was on the web :-)But it was good of you to remember a good man.
I started this blog for family that lives far away. I share it with others as my stories may be your stories.Comments are welcome, but if you have a fake name, no blog and only comment to criticize or post statements that could incite bad behavior by others online you go straight to SPAM.
